This is an experiment into a series of studys that i am going to do of portraits made up to look like children, but they are represented by bio mechanical steam parts, with only a hint of human flesh in there....I am going to call the series 'Children of steam'.

This one was done quick, but I think it roughly demonstrates what I am going for, I plan for the next ones to be a lot more detailed.....

For a while now since the solo show i have taken some time out, it was utterly needed from the intense burn out of the show...
Now though i am back and feel really really inspired, i have got rid of my drawing demons and am ready to get into new things.....Expect to see alot more asap, i feel for once excited about the future and don't want to stop anymore.....

Ink dot are a young and dynamic company from Bristol who are slowly on the rise to power and glory. They have events themed on a word and a colour pallete and any artist can enter the competition, if they get in they are shown in the exhibition and have a profile page made of them on the ink-dot website. (Details below.)
Personally i think it is a great system to push artists to design with different briefs and open their mind more (i would have never realized that alot of my work is themed on escapism if i had not done the 'Escape' brief.)

They have their next exhibition on the 2nd of December (which i am in) in the glorious surroundings of Colston Halls glass house and you should all come along as it will be bloody good.

Now let me tell you a story...

I have a tendancy to exaggerate things..its a habit i have picked up from my dear family and personally i think it isn't something to be ashamed of....My mum catches a fish that is fairly small, and when she tells someone a week later it was a shark etc.....

I maaay have done this with this ' one a day for a year' challenge. Now i am not saying i am stopping the series but what i am saying is that it needs to become more realistic. One a day is hard, it was easy to begin with but me being a mead have been making things more and more complicated as i have been doing this (of course!) The plan now is to do 52 in the main series and make them into a deck of a cards, a top trumps kinda thing....also i will be doing them as normal cards as well to increase their demographic.
I shall be continuing with this series, but on a much much larger scale, a scale not possible to complete in a day! So expect more but for them to be bigger, not as punctual and much more intense!

All this shall (as stated before) come to an end when it naturally decides to and all be put into one exhibition and book.
